Sketches from VIZCAYA Gardens Miami, Florida
|
A Spanish-Italian Renaissance villa in the heart of Miami .... Villa
Vizcaya was designed and built by architect F. Burrall Hoffman for its
owner, James Deering, Vice-President of the International Harvester
Company. The estate's Venice-like garden along old Biscayne Bay is graced
with sculpture promenades, fountains, and grottoes. Some of the images on
this page were drawn and painted on-site in this deeply Romantic setting,
surrounded by a harmonious combination of Florida hammock, mangroves,
and of course the sea.
